"Preis der Besten" awarded to sausage market leader zur Mühlen Group – certificate of consistent quality policy
Böklund-based zur Mühlen Group, the market leader in the field of self-service and canned sausage products, has received a major reward. Two of the production companies belonging to the group, Böklunder Plumrose of Böklund and Könecke Fleischwarenfabrik of Bremen, were awarded the "Preis der Besten" bronze "prize for the best" by the food test centre of DLG, the German Agricultural Society. The quality certificate is awarded for many years of high-quality and sustainable production. The prize was presented in Darmstadt at the 6th DLG-Lebensmitteltage (Food Days). The event is a meeting point of the German nutrition industry and with about 500 participants it was the perfect stage for the presentation ceremony.
DLG vice president, professor Dr. Achim Stiebing, handed over the certificate to Mr Gerhard Neukum, head of the production department of zur Mühlen Group. In his address, Dr. Stiebing said the prize winner's consistent quality objectives were as ambitious and demanding as the award. "You belong to the club of the best because for you, food means something very special. Your consistent quality awareness and behaviour which we have impartially confirmed raise enthusiasm and create trust that you can build on."
The "Preis der Besten" prize is given only to companies which were top performers every year in the International DLG Quality Test for sausage and ham. To be awarded the prize, companies must have proven their quality performance and received awards at the annual DLG Quality Tests for years.
