First Federal Honorary Award for Böklunder Plumrose (Böklund)
Highest German Distinction for Quality - Award Ceremony in Berlin
For and on behalf of the zur Mühlen Group and in recognition of its high-quality ham and sausage products, the sausage and cold cut specialist Böklunder Plumrose in Böklund has been bestowed for the first time with the Honorary Award of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV). This is the highest possible distinction that can be conferred upon a company for its quality in the meat product branch. Certificate and medal were presented to Managing Director Gerhard Neukum by the President of the German Agricultural Society (DLG), Carl-Albrecht Bartmer, in the company of Parliamentary State Secretary Dr. Gerd Müller. Member of Parliament Wolfgang Börnsen from the electoral district of Flensburg was also present to proffer his congratulations. The award ceremony took place in a festive ambience at the Meistersaal in Berlin.
Honorary awards have been conferred upon twelve companies from the German meat branch that achieved the best results the previous year in the DLG quality tests. Competing in this performance review, the most important one of its kind in Germany, were 852 businesses with a total of 11,247 products. “To come out of this as one of the winners from such a large number of participants underlines the very high quality standards of Böklunder Plumrose”, emphasised the DLG President. The company proved to be outstanding with its exceptional qualitative product benefits that were ascertained by extensive sensory and laboratory testing.
“Any company receiving the Honorary Award for the first time, like Böklunder Plumrose, documents most impressively that it numbers among the top companies of Germany and sets quality criteria for the entire branch”, lauded the DLG President. According to Bartmer, the model company in Böklund not only focuses on cost efficiency and optimization strategies that harbour the danger of products becoming exchangeable and boring. “It is more about individual dimensions in quality, taste and enjoyment. These are the factors, which make the products of awardee Böklunder Plumrose so unparalleled”.
