This initiative aims to help those children, teenagers and their families in need. The Kids' Dream initiative sets out to fulfil the special wishes and dreams of very ill and disabled children, some of whom have horrendous backgrounds. The Kids' Dream group works closely with the Federal Children's Hospices Association.

The Bremer Fonds promotes the education and training of children and teenagers from socially deprived districts in Bremen. It also provides humanitarian and material support for children and teenagers in need.

The Martinsclub Bremen e.V. is an organisation that has existed for more than three decades which focuses on providing disabled people with quality of life and opening up education and leisure options.

Nestwerk e.V. organises sporting events in Hamburg's socially deprived districts to get young people off the streets. The events are run by sports instructors and welfare workers. They are free-of-charge and target young people of all cultures. The clearly defined rules of the game help the teenagers to foster a more tolerant attitude and improve their social skills.
